Sports icons amongst themselves - Misty May Treanor‘ sports center is equipped with more than 10.000m² / 107.700 ft² of HARO sports floors.

HARO SPORTS, 17.03.2015

Irvine / California, USA – Irvine, the self-declared fastest growing city in California is now showing its true size in the field of sports. 22 volleyball, 21 basketball and another 21 futsal courts – the Misty May Treanor sports center, which is named after the three-time Olympic gold medal champion in beach volleyball, has an area of more than 10.000m² / 107.700 ft². Enthusiastic kids, teens and adults alike are faced with another sports icon: the HARO Helsinki 10-10 ash sports floor. The MMTC was due to its size a great challenge even for the HARO Sports Flooring specialists, who have successfully completed more than 12.000 projects worldwide.

Numerous credentials - also in the US – as well as the quality and the amazing features gave the ‘Made in Germany’ floors the green light. The Helsinki 10-10 model is a sports floor with an elastic layer and with its low construction height of 34.6 mm it is the perfect choice for refurbishment and renovation projects. Due to its homogeneous construction, the floor shows great performance characteristics as well as 60% force reduction for the safety of the athletes and 98% ball rebound.
The Helsinki 10-10 model features a 12.6 mm thick HARO sports parquet consisting of a premium choice parquet top layer, which is supported by a top-quality plywood core layer. The 3.6 mm parquet top layer has a factory-applied PERMADUR finish for a superior performance and surface protection. Helsinki 10-10 fully meets the requirements according to German DIN standard V 18032-2; April 2001, EN 14904.

Ceremonial launch – of course with the beach volleyball legend Misty May Treanor
In her opening speech in October 2014, the three-time Olympic gold champion in beach volleyball said the MMTC was a palace and she was very proud that it was named after her. Misty May Treanor significantly contributed to the popularity of beach volleyball with her particular playing technique. That was the reason for Michael J. Rangel, member of the MMTC management board, why the new sports center in Irvine should carry her name. The vast amount of guests were thrilled to meet the former top athlete. She gave autographs and aimed her inspirational words particularly towards the young athletes in the attendance. Thanks to the sports floors from HARO Sports Flooring, they will also be able to enjoy basketball, volleyball and futsal in the future.
