The four major types of Sports Flooring.(A comparison according to DIN V 18032.2.)
Aside from the various manufacturer-specific properties, there are basically two types of sports flooring: area-elastic and point-elastic. In between, you find various hybrid forms of combined and mixed constructions. The differences show in their deformation properties and the resulting effects on their suitability for the project at hand.
Area-elastic sports floor
Resilient, deflection-resistant floor with large deformation control area i.e. the pressure is spread over a wide area and is able to withstand heavy loads. Due to its construction, area-elastic floors minimise the risk of injury due to spreading the effects of impacts over a larger area. This is the ideal choice for sports and other multi-purpose applications.
Mixed sports floor
Resilient, supple floor with area-reinforcing component. i.e. the pressure is spread over a smaller area thus causing the deformation to be greater on the load-bearing point.
Combined sports floor
Area-elastic floor with point-elastic top layer i.e. the pressure is spread over a wide area, however, the impact area deforms.
Point-elastic sports floor
Resilient, supple floor with a deformation control area tightly adapted to the load-bearing area i.e. when pressure impacts the load bearing area, the floor’s physical properties cause it to deform vertically. Due to their flexible application and installation possibilities as well as the high economic efficiency, the popularity of area-elastic sports flooring is very high. Because of their many positive benefits, area-elastic sports floors are the sole focus of HARO Sports.
About area-elastic sports flooring: Due to their flexible application and installation possibilities as well as the high economic efficiency, the popularity of area-elastic sports flooring is very high. Because of their many positive benefits, area-elastic sports floors are the best choice for nearly every indoor sport and the sole focus of HARO Sports. |
