Halfway around the world - HARO Sports floor at Squash event in Hong Kong
HARO SPORTS, 14.01.2013
Rosenheim / Hong Kong – The Hong Kong Skyline: skyscrapers with modern glass facades that reflect the ocean and the sun. This is where the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2012 took place from 25th November till 02nd December. More than 100 top-notch players from six continents gathered here. For this first class event, the events hosts of course went for first class equipment “Made in Germany”: the world-first ASB Show Glass Court with doors in every wall and the new sports floor Melbourne 65 in black oak by HARO Sports Flooring were delivered especially from Germany to Hong Kong. With its dark color, the floor is one-of-a-kind in the field of Squash. It was developed especially for better ball contrast on television.
Just like for the Ladies Team Squash World Championships 2012 in Nimes, HARO Sports flooring, one of the leading manufacturers of portable and permanently installed area-elastic sports floors, delivered the model HARO Sports Melbourne for this event, which was developed for Squash sports usage. This model has a depth impregnated raw surface that prevents players from slipping on floors damp with sweat. HARO Sports Melbourne is one of the few floors that are approved by the World Squash Federation and that come into use at international Squash Championships. The semifinal and final games in front of over 6.000 spectators at the Tsim Sha Tsui Culture Centre in the port of Hong Kong took place on this sports floor, colored in elegant black oak. This event was broadcast across the world by Squash TV and also caught the attention of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
